Yesterday I went to see a play (An Ideal Husband by Oscar Wilde and performed by the Melbourne Theatre Company). It surpassed expectations. This performance was the first play I have seen as an adult and I'm so glad this was the one to initiate me into theatre. I laughed so many times. I would love to see my favourite play, The Importance of Being Earnest.

Now that I've mentioned TIOBE, I would like to talk about why it is my favourite.

I don't know why I decided to read it (probably downloaded it from Project Gutenberg) but I know that after I read the first four lines, I put my ereader down and just kind of stared into space like, uhhh did the butler just say what I think he said? I continued, my awe growing ever stronger. I loved every minute of reading it; I can still turn to a random page and get sucked in. I love the word choice and the sentence structure and the wit. I didn't know I could read and like plays, and I think that realisation makes it hard for another play to have that strong an effect on me again.

Also it contains the line, "Australia! I'd sooner die!"

And my favourite line: "I always keep my diary with me. One must always have something sensational to read on the train."
