Jul. 29th, 2018 08:19 pmToday I was at the Carlton shops (not sure if that's what they're called). It's those three or so blocks of Lygon Street between Something St. and Something Else St. that has Cinema Nova, Readings bookshop, that family-owned shoeshop, and heaps of cafes and restaurants. Between bouts of lesson planning, I decided to go up there and try out a new cafe because I like to be adventurous. I really wanted a nice hot cup of English breakfast tea and scone with jam and cream (adventurous) but what I (a moth) ended up doing was going back to Trio Pasta, Sweets and Nuts (the flame) and ordering a long black and two turkish delight (my favourite sweet). One was vanilla flavoured, the other was one marshmallow flavoured, and both were rolled in coconut. The three items came to $6.50. I also bought a thing of hummus. Everything I've ever had there makes me feel so fortunate to be alive and at this place in the world.
I went to the City Library to do lesson planning today. The second level quiet study room is a very good place to study and/or desk-nap. When I was in there, one guy in the next, next stall over from me awoke from his nap with grunts and snorts. The person directly opposite me smiled, so I did, too. At the Brisbane Square library, they will wake you up if you put your head down, though the State Library of Queensland will leave you be.
