May. 7th, 2018 09:50 pmMynas have a few different calls. Some of them are tweets, and others are whistles, and others are scratchy. Today I realised that the scratchy ones are not from mynas but a bird called the red wattlebird. Their calls remind me of the sound a tin can makes when you pull back the ring.
So that's five kinds of birds I've seen living in my area (crow, myna, magpie, red wattlebird, and crested pigeon).
Not to be That Gal but in Brisbane where I used to live in Zone 2, I was blessed with crows, magpies, kookaburras, curlews, currawongs, butcher birds, noisy miners, honeyeaters, and bush turkeys. Now, you may think the bush turkey is the most ridiculous bird in that list and to be fair it is a ridiculous bird but you're just proving to me that you've never seen or heard a curlew.
Too much inauthentic-tasting Korean food made of my foreign hands has given me a craving for 기름진 hamburgers and pizza.
