Jul. 24th, 2017 02:44 pmToday is the first day of semester at the University of Queensland. The university has changed so much! And for the better. It looks so pretty in some areas: there were lots of people lying on the grass near the great lakes, soaking up the winter sun, and there were lots of clean walkways through gardens of native plants and bamboo. The university looks fancy in other areas, I think because some buildings have been added since I was last here, or I never paid attention to the Advanced Engineering building because I am not an engineer. And of course the Great Court looks impressively historical with its ring of tanned sandstone walls and the faces and the plants and fruit gargoyle things carved into them. It really is a lovely campus, not quite old, not quite modern, not quite anything which perfectly sums up Brisbane.
