On another note, the book that I'm reading at the moment is set in Melbourne and it keeps calling people skids I think or something like that (or skips or honestly idek) and I have no idea who that's supposed to be referring to because I've never heard this slang before. I used to think that Australia had only one general culture but this is obviously untrue and all it was was that I had never travelled beyond the bubble around our backyard fence.
